Site Description
The Collegeville Radium Site consists of a wooden box containing eleven (11) mineral samples and one (1) metal container containing radium being found in a professor's drawer at Ursinus College.

The eleven (11) mineral samples were tested and it was found that six (6) of these samples contained non-radioactive material and the remaining five (5) samples did contain radioactive material. The metal container, once tested, revealed two (2) micograms of Radium 226, which is above the licensed quantity.
Cleanup Progress
Cleanup was accomplished by having the college retain possession of the eleven (11) mineral samples and tasking the Emergency Rapid Response Services contractor to arrange for a licensed subcontractor to immediately remove the metal container of radium.
