Site Description
The Dewart Farms Site was initially brought to EPA's attention following a rash of cow deaths in 1994. Initially, a replacement fuel pipeline which runs through the property was the suspected sources. However, repeated follow-up sampling did not indicate high levels of fuel in the ground water. EPA continues to work with the farmer and the PA Department of Environmental Protection on this case. No source of the problem has been found.
