Avtex Fibers, Inc Public Meeting Notice

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a Public Information Meeting at Town Hall Council Chambers, Front Royal, VA, at 7 PM on Thursday, July 16, 1998.

The purpose of the meeting is to update the community on current EPA removal activity at the Avtex Superfund Site, present an outline about ongoing and future Avtex Site removal activity, and present a technical discussion of the proposed location and construction of an on-site landfill on the Avtex property. The landfill will hold debris - resulting from the demolition of site process buildings - which cannot be recycled or shipped off-site for disposal. The landfill will be constructed according to RCRA and VA-DEQ specifications. EPA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will outline the landfill location and construction process and will entertain comments from the public on the location and construction of the landfill. The public is urged to attend the meeting.
