Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease
Registry (ATSDR) ![]()
ATSDR is an agency of the Public Health Service in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, mandated to perform specific functions concerning the effect of hazardous substances in the environment on public health. Some of its functions include public health assessments of waste sites, health surveillance and registries, response to emergency releases of hazardous substances, applied research, information dissemination, education and training.
This is the web version of the bulletin board for the hazardous waste remediation community developed by EPA's Technology Innovation Office and operated under contract by EMS. It provides information on remediation technologies, site characterization, partnerships and consortia, regulations, supply and demand for technologies, publications, software, etc. Many EPA remediation publications are available in full text for downloading.
Envirofacts is a relational database providing a single point of access to data from multiple EPA resources. It currently includes data from seven EPA program system databases and the Locational Reference Tables (LRT) : The Aerometric Information and Retrieval System/AIRS Facility Subsystem (AIRS/AFS), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Information System (CERCLIS), the Grants Information and Control System (GICS), the Permit Compliance system (PCS), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Information System (RCRIS), the Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS), the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), and the Latitude/Longitude Information (LRT). It also includes two "cross-reference databases: The Facility Index System (FINDS) and the Envirofacts Master Chemical Integrator (EMCI).
