Drake Team Returns to Full Production

LOCK HAVEN, PA: April 6, 1998 -- The Drake Cleanup Team resumed cleaning contaminated soil, at this former chemical company site, shortly after noon today. Incinerator production had been idled for nearly a week for maintenance.

Worn refractory brick within the incinerator kiln was replaced late last week, and technicians restarted the burners Saturday. Burner temperatures were gradually raised over the weekend as the incinerator was brought up to effective operating temperatures.

Since beginning full-scale production on March 4, the Drake Cleanup Team has cleaned more than 16,800 tons of soil.
