"Mars Needs Water: Protecting Drinking Water"- VHS format, running time is 10 minutes
Shows how the Mars Area High School, in Mars, Pennsylvania produces an annual groundwater festival for middle and elementary school students. When the elementary and middle school students then reach high school, they understand the importance of protecting groundwater, are familiar with the sources of their drinking water, the potential contamination from land use, and have discussed methods of protecting water quality. They then teach younger students about groundwater protection by producing their own groundwater festival.
Designed to educate students, scout troops, 4-H groups as well as federal, state and local groups such as planning and development commissions, health departments, municipal leaders, and watershed groups, it has a length of only 10 minutes and can be included in programs where a longer video might not be suitable.
