National Information
Given the extent of water resources within EPA's mid-Atlantic Region, volunteer monitoring can play an important role in assisting state agencies in conducting water quality assessments. The Region is fortunate to have numerous watershed groups, citizen networks, local chapters of national organizations and many other volunteers involved in water quality sampling and analysis.
In addition to making ongoing contributions to state assessments, many volunteer organizations participate in the annual World Water Monitoring Day
program.
