EPA and the District of Columbia Department of the Environment have agreed to major Green Infrastructure enhancements to protect the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers from the detrimental effects of stormwater runoff. The enhancements will include the use of trees, green roofs and vegetated buffers. The enhancement package will be incorporated into the District's current stormwater NPDES permit (PDF) (51 pp, 355K, About PDF).
