Notice EPA Finalizes Nutrient TMDL PA
On June 30, 2008, EPA established the TMDLs listed below. Based on comments received from the Watersheds’ Stakeholders, the final TMDLs are significantly different from the draft TMDLs. EPA received a significant number of quality comments and wishes to thank those who participated in the review of and comment on the draft TMDLs. Some of the changes include:
1)The elimination of total nitrogen reduction requirements from all of the TMDLs
2) The reduction in scope of the Chester Creek TMDL to include only the Goose Creek sub-watershed
3) The reliance on the implementation of the Harrisburg Long Term Control Plan to removed sufficient total phosphorus in order to meet applicable instream criteria
4) The adjustment of the total phosphorus endpoint for the Paxton Creek and Sawmill Run TMDLs based on an evaluation of the appropriate Ecoregions.
