Reuse and Recycling of Industrial Materials

EPA's Mid-Atlantic Region is committed to reducing the amount of industrial waste disposed at landfills by increasing reuse and recycling of these secondary materials. Reuse and recycling rather than disposal makes sense and we look forward to working with volunteer partners throughout the region to improve and expand ongoing efforts as well as finding new innovative approaches.

Our Region is an enthusiastic participant in EPA’s Resource Conservation Challenge – a national program aimed at more effective management of our nation’s waste.

Reusing and recycling of non-hazardous industrial materials are key to a successful resource conservation program.  The beneficial use of high-volume, non-hazard industrial materials is expanding, with a number of applications gaining market and regulator acceptance. It is the aim of this Region to look for ways to increase safe reuse and recycling of these materials by developing partnerships with industries that produce the following products:
