Description of source: The source is a soybean processing facility, which includes:
- preparation for extraction,
- soybean oil extraction with hexane,
- white flake production,
- grit production,
- meal production,
- and ground hull production.
Cargill, Inc. has asked Illinois EPA to renew the Clean Air Act Permit Program permit regulating air emissions from its soybean processing facility in Bloomington.
Based on its review of the application, Illinois EPA has made a preliminary determination that the application meets the standards for issuance and has prepared a draft permit for public review.
Illinois EPA is accepting comments on the draft permit. Comments must be postmarked by midnight Friday, October 4, 2013. If sufficient interest is expressed in the draft permit, a hearing or other informational meeting may be held.
