EPA held an open house and hearing and a 60 day public comment period to obtain comments on a proposal to approve a revision to Ohio's NPDES program. The state has asked EPA to allow the Ohio Department of Agriculture to administer the part of the NPDES program that deals with concentrated animal feeding operations. Ohio EPA would continue to administer the program for all point sources other than Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) and storm water associated with construction activity at animal feeding operations. EPA is reviewing all of the comments received and will respond to them in a responsiveness summary that will be posted below.
