Community-Based Environmental Protection (CBEP)
What is it?
Community-Based Environmental Protection is an approach designed to improve the effectiveness of our nationwide regulations and other environmental programs. A Community-Based Environmental Protection approach helps EPA get the best environmental results by collaborating with other federal agencies, state and local governments, tribes, businesses, organizations, and individuals to solve environmental problems.
What does it do?
Community-Based Environmental Protection enables communities to create and take ownership of plans for improving and sustaining the quality of the air, land, and water to achieve a better quality of life.
What are our CBEP goals?
- Assess and manage the quality of air, water, land, and living resources.
- Better reflect regional and local conditions and priorities.
- Work more effectively with our many partners in environmental protection.
