U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently picked from several options its preferred methods for cleaning up contaminated soil and underground water supplies at the OMC Plant 2 site. The ground water is contaminated by trichloroethylene or TCE. EPA’s preferred cleanup plan includes using an in–place chemical treatment to destroy the pool of liquid TCE in the deep soil.
