Status & Cleanup Approach

Status

An approximately seven year enforcement effort culminated in a 2008 legal agreement between the responsible parties, EPA, DOJ, and the State for cleanup of the site by a group of the responsible parties, clearing the way for the cleanup plan to get underway.

Additional sampling and tests were conducted on-site in 2008 to better inform the cleanup design. These pre-design investigations will conclude in 2009, the cleanup design is scheduled to be completed in 2010, and the cleanup is scheduled to start in 2011.
