Environmental Review Section
The Environmental Review Section of EPA Region 2's Strategic Planning and Multi-Media Programs Branch prepares environmental review documentation for all appropriate EPA actions, in accordance with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
The Section also coordinates EPA Region 2's reviews, pursuant to NEPA and Section 309 of the Clean Air Act, of projects and regulations proposed by other federal agencies, for environmental soundness and compliance with EPA-administered statutes and policies.
For those EPA actions which do not require preparation of NEPA compliance documents (e.g., remedial actions at Superfund sites under the Comprehensive Emergency Response, Compensation and Liability Act), the Section conducts environmental reviews to ensure full compliance with the requirements of other environmental statutes and requirements, including but not limited those related to:

In addition, the Section oversees environmental review activities carried out by states in support of federally funded state revolving funds (SRFs) for environmental infrastructure improvement projects.
