In July 1996, a federal work group was created to marshal
the resources available throughout the federal government in support of
brownfields redevelopment. One of the first products of that effort
is this Brownfields Resource Directory. The directory contains information
about federal and state programs and local contacts to assist in community
development efforts, including brownfields resources and programs in related
areas such as infrastructure, job training and assistance for local businesses.
Further background information is available in the Brownfields Resource
