SITE DESCRIPTION

SITE HISTORY
The property has been used for commercial/industrial purposes since 1930. Moore Brothers Machine Shop and Foundry operated on the property from 1930 to 1991. The City of Elizabeth acquired the property in 1991.
The property is one of four properties on the Front Street waterfront due north of the Elizabeth Marina, in an area targeted for redevelopment. Three of these properties are currently publicly owned. With the assistance of a "Hope VI" grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the public housing in this area will be demolished and 300 new single and two-family homes will be constructed. A portion of the Hope VI project is located across Front Street from the Kull Property. An Economic Revitalization Plan has been approved by the State of New Jersey which encompasses the activities for the redevelopment of the E-Port area.

The site is bounded by the Arthur Kill to the south, Pine Street to the east, a city-owned vacant property to the west, and Front Street to the north. The population of this area is comprised of 76.6% low to moderate income.
