Financial Incentives for Green Building

The Database of State Incentives for Renewable Energy, provides information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy.

Green Communities is an initiative to provide grants, financing, tax-credit equity, and technical assistance to developers who meet  criteria for affordable housing that promotes health, conserves energy and natural resources, and provides easy access to jobs, schools, and services.

The Home Depot Foundation awards grants to encourage green building and sustainable design in affordable housing.

IRS Energy efficiency tax credits encourage energy-conscious purchases, including energy efficient home improvements and hybrid vehicles.

The Kresge Foundation's Bricks and Mortar Grant Program funds capital construction projects for non-profit and government entities, including funding for design and planning of green buildings.

EPA Resources

EPA's Green Building Web site - EPA's Green Building Web site is a portal to many different EPA (and other) web pages on sustainable building issues, including Energy Star, Indoor Environments, Construction and Demolition Debris, Smart Growth and many more.
Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability (BEES) - BEES 3.0 is a tool that helps in the selection of building materials which take into account environmental and economic considerations.
