Prior to submitting a Freedom of Information (FOIA) request consider checking the electronic sources listed below which may provide the desired information. This list is not comprehensive, but contains links to sites which contain information most frequently requested in Region 3. If the information is not available on the Internet please choose option 2(send an e-mail message directly to the Region 3 FOIA Office) or option 1 (complete Region 3's on-line form) to submit a FOIA request.

EPA Region 3's Administrative Records on the Internet (ARweb)
Facility Indexing Initiative (FII) - To check in which databases EPA has information on the subject facility first search in FII.
Envirofacts - Envirofacts is a data warehouse which permits access to all EPA databases currently available for public use. Search the databases and generate reports from this partial list of databases
CERCLIS - Search the Superfund Database by facility name and geographic location.
Region 3's Hazardous Waste Management Division - Contains RBC Table, narrative summaries for NPL sites, Brownfields information, most recent congressional briefings.
RCRIS - Search the Resource Conservation and Recovery Information System by facility name, geographic location, standard industrial classification and chemical.
WCMD - Reports of Non-Sensitive Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Data.
AIRS - Search the Aerometric Information Retrieval System by facility name, geographic location, and standard industrial classification.
PCS - Search the Water Discharge Permit database.
GICS - Look for grant information in the Grants Information and Control System.
Publications - Full-text or abstracts of EPA Publications.
Publications (NCEPI) - Central repository for EPA Publications which are available free of charge.
Publications (NEPIS) - Search for and print or order EPA Publications including many which may no longer be available in print.
Record of Decision System (RODS) provides the justification for the remedial action (treatment) chosen at a Superfund site.
Superfund Hazardous Waste Site Basic Query - The Basic Query allows you to conduct a search of the nation's hazardous waste sites against commonly requested search fields, such as: site name, state, zip code, and contaminants of concern.
Superfund Hazardous Waste Site Advanced Query - In order to obtain results using the Basic Query, search criteria must be entered in at least one field. However, results will generally be more specific
when more search criteria are entered. In order to obtain results using the Advanced Query, either the Display or Count option must be selected in at least one field before submitting search criteria.

Envirofacts - Access information about environmental activities anywhere in the U.S.
Surf Your Watershed - Find information about land areas that catch rain and snow and drain to specific marshes, streams, lakes, rivers or ground water.
Center for Environmental Information and Statistics - A convenient source of information on environmental quality, status and trends.
Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) - Provides a database of human health effects that may result from exposure to a variety of substances found in the environment.
Sector Facility Indexing Project - Profiles compliance and inspection history, chemical releases and spills related to petroleum refining, iron and steel production, metal refining and smelting, pulp manufacturing, and automobile assembly.
List of other online EPA Databases - Access databases that provide information about Air, Pollution Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances, Solid Wastes and Emergency Response, and Water.
Enviro$en$e - part of the U.S. EPA's web site, provides a single repository for pollution prevention, compliance assurance, and enforcement information and data bases. Our search engine searches multiple web sites (inside and outside the EPA), and offers assistance in preparing a search.
