West Virginia company settles chemical release reporting violations (11/13/08) EPA cited Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. of Ranson for violating the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), which requires companies that manufacture, use or process more than a threshold amount of listed toxic chemicals to file an annual toxic chemical release form with EPA and the state. Owner and rental agent settle violations over lead-based paint hazards at York, Pa. properties (11/12/08) EPA cited the property owner and rental agency for violating the disclosure requirements of the Residential Lead-based Paint Hazard Reduction Act, which requires sellers and landlords of housing built before 1978 to disclose to purchasers and tenants the presence of known lead-based paint hazards. Allentown, Pa. business owner sentenced in hazardous waste case (11/12/08) Moshe Rubashkin was sentenced to 16 months in prison for illegally storing hazardous waste at Montex Textiles. Rubashkin was also ordered to jointly pay restitution with his son, Sholom, of $450,000. Press Release
