I join EPA Administrator Steve Johnson in welcoming you to our Agency's web site. We believe that access to valid information on environmental trends and priorities enables all of us-whether at EPA, our partnering state and local agencies, environmental organizations, industry, or the general public-to develop the right policies and make the right investments to best protect our environment.
It's important as well that this information be presented in a supportive context that helps us understand the scientific and policy issues that define most environmental issues. Indeed, the development and everyday use of meaningful environmental indicators to help decide what to do and how to evaluate our progress is one of EPA's most promising environmental management goals.
