Superfund records document and describe what actions have been taken to clean up sites; what steps need to be taken to clean up Superfund sites; and what steps are needed to ensure that sites will remain safe over the long-term. A key record-related activity includes establishing and maintaining a comprehensive records management system to create the Administrative Record for each site. The Administrative Record includes records from all program and legal staff involved at a site. Another key records management activity includes responding to appropriate requests for Superfund information. In Region 4, the Superfund Enforcement and Information Management Branch manages and oversees Superfund-related records.
