“The Environmental Protection Agency will use a full range of compliance and enforcement strategies and tools to aggressively pursue pollution problems that make a difference in communities targeting the most serious water, air and chemical hazards,” said EPA, Region 6, Compliance Assurance and Enforcement Director, John Blevins. “Working with our State, Tribal, and local partners, we will advance environmental justice by protecting vulnerable communities and we will promote Next Generation Compliance to achieve greater compliance and reduce pollution by using advanced monitoring and information technologies.”

Mission - protect and sustain human health and the environment by ensuring compliance with Federal environmental laws in partnership with our States and Tribes.

Air/Toxics Enforcement works with state, local and tribal governments, other federal agencies, businesses and community groups to implement and enforce the Clean Air Act regulations.

Hazardous Waste Enforcement provides guidance on all aspects of managing hazardous wastes and chemical substances; and assures compliance with the regulations set forth for treating, storing and disposal of hazardous wastes including federal facilities.

Water Enforcement assures compliance and takes appropriate enforcement action against facilities for violations of the Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water acts, including concentrated animal feed lots and stormwater. Water permits, grants and additional water quality information in the South Central area can be found in this link.

Strategic Planning and Analyses performs analyses to support compliance and enforcement activities in the South Central Region; environmental assessments are also performed under the National Environmental Policy Act and more.
