Compliance and EMS Conformance Audits

ISO 14001
The requirements identified on this page are derived from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 standard for environmental management systems. Additional information on this standard can be obtained from their Website at www.iso.org/iso/home.htm Exit EPA Click for Disclaimer

An organization must periodically evaluate its compliance with the legal and other requirements applicable to its environmental aspects to ensure the commitment to compliance articulated in its environmental policy statement. It must also conduct periodic conformance audits of its EMS to ensure that the system is structured and functioning in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Region 7 is fully committed to complying with our legal and other requirements at all times, and has developed a procedure for conducting periodic audits of our activities to ensure our continuous compliance status. The Region also conducts EMS conformance audits on a periodic basis, based on an operating procedure, to ensure that the system remains aligned in its structure and function to the ISO 14001 standard, as well as to standards established by EPA and the Region. If you have questions about our compliance or conformance status or auditing programs, please contact the Region 7 Office of Public Affairs.
