EPA ADMINISTRATOR LEAVITT TO VISIT KANSAS CITY TO DISCUSS NEW CLEAN AIR NONROAD DIESEL RULE
EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt will be in Kansas City Wednesday to discuss the impact of the new Clean Air Nonroad Diesel Rule.
Leavitt’s visit will be hosted by the Mid-America Regional Council and the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
The new rule will require off-road diesel vehicles – such as cranes,
construction equipment, tractors and combines – to phase in new
engines and a low-sulfur formula diesel fuel by 2010.

| WHERE: | IRS construction site near Union Station, where off-road vehicles are in use. Access to the site will be from 26th and Broadway (near Annie’s Lofts). Guests will gather under a tent near 26th Street to hear the administrator’s remarks. Parking will be available on 26th Street. |
