EPA RELEASES IT’S PROPOSED PLAN FOR THE ORONOGO-DUENWEG MINING BELT SUPERFUND SITE FOR PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT
Today the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7 released it’s Proposed Plan for the Cleanup of the Oronogo-Duenweg Mining Belt Superfund site, Jasper County, MO. The Proposed Plan will present EPA’s cleanup alternatives, as well as EPA’s preferred alternative to address the remaining mine wastes of the Oronogo-Duenweg Mining Belt site. The public comment period for the proposed plan will open on July 19, 2004 and continue to August 19th 2004. Citizens are encouraged to make comments in writing, electronically, or during EPA’s public meeting, which will be held on Tuesday August 3, 2004, at the following location:
