EPA EXTENDS ITS PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE OMAHA LEAD SITE PROPOSED PLAN TO NOVEMBER 1, 2004 AND HOLDS AVAILABILITY SESSIONS FOR THE PUBLIC
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended the public comment period for the Omaha Lead Site Proposed Plan to November 1, 2004. This plan describes EPA’s preferred approach to address lead contamination in residential yards in east Omaha. EPA has scheduled three availability sessions prior to the close of the public comment period. They will be held as follows:

| Oct. 21st: | Druid Hill Elementary School Library

| Oct. 26th: | Skinner Magnet Center 4304 North 33rd Street Omaha, Nebraska (4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. to coincide with the Parent/Teacher Conference) |
Citizens are encouraged to attend one or more of the availability sessions, and to provide comments on the Proposed Plan. EPA will accept verbal comments on the Proposed Plan at any of the availability sessions or by telephone. Written comments can be submitted by mail or electronically. Comments may be submitted to:
