While it will take a global effort to mitigate and address those impacts, there is much that can be done within the Pacific Southwest. On November 1, 2013, President Obama signed Executive Order 13653 – “Preparing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change”. The order established the State, Local, and Tribal Leaders task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience which spent one year developing recommendations for the Federal government.
