Pollution Prevention Incentives (PPIS) for States/Tribes

Purpose	To build and support state pollution prevention (P2) capabilities and to test, at the state level, innovative pollution prevention approaches and methodologies.
Eligible Applicants	State agencies, federally-recognized tribes, territories and possessions. States are encouraged to form partnerships with other P2 providers.
Award Amount	Up to $200,000 per grant.
Total Awarded in Fiscal Year	Usually $450,000 for Region 9.
Matching Share	50% matching share required.
Key Dates: Application Due Selection	Due: Winter April 17, 2009 Selection: May 2009
Priorities	Funds awarded must be used for programs that prevent the transfer of pollutants across air, water and land. Funded activities might include: agricultural P2, P2 for children's health, P2 focused on persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBTs) chemical source reduction, and sector Partnerships with state agencies and other p2 assistance providers are encouraged.
