The Golf & the Environment initiative is a collaborative effort between the golf industry, the environmental community, and government organizations. The mission of this voluntary coalition is: "To enhance golf course environmental responsibility and performance through cooperation in environmental stewardship and public education."
Individual golfers, golf courses, citizens or interest groups may get involved by using or incorporating the principles into their activities and by participating in national conferences. Corporations, foundations and government agencies can help support the program by providing technical information and financial assistance.
