Standards Preparation Volatile Organic Analysis
Summary
This standard operating procedure (SOP) describes the preparation of all of the standard solutions suitable for use in the analysis of samples for volatile organic compounds employing EPA Region 9 methodologies for soil samples (Region 9 SOP 305), 5-mL (mid-level) and 25-mL (low level) purge volumes (Region 9 SOP 305), as well as EPA drinking water Method 524.2 (Region 9 SOP 354). The standard solutions include internal standard and system monitoring compound spike solutions, matrix spike solutions, the 4-bromofluorobenzene (BFB) tuning solution, daily calibration solutions, laboratory control solutions, and intermediate stock solutions.
