Management of Municipal Solid Waste in Nevada

The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) Exiting EPA (disclaimer)administers solid waste management regulations, including permitting and enforcement for all counties, except Clark and Washoe. Nevada has established a recycling goal of 25 percent. 

The Clark County Health District Exiting EPA (disclaimer), Environmental Health Division, administers solid waste management regulations, including permitting and enforcement. Clark County includes the city of Las Vegas and the surrounding area. 

The Washoe County District Health Department  administers solid waste management regulations, including permitting and enforcement. Washoe County includes the city of Reno and the surrounding area. 

Nevada Solid Waste Grants

Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) funded $120,000 in contracts for waste reduction initiatives. Check with NDEP's Recycling Program for specific requirements.
