Electronic Export and Design Outreach
The Electronic Export and Design Outreach project was developed with three overriding goals; outreach and partnership with the industrial design community, development of a Model Environmental Stewardship Policy and an E-Waste Export Forum that included outreach and discussion with representatives from local government and community organizations on e-waste export issues. During this process, 36 electronics recycling firms signed a pledge that set rigorous environmental and social criteria for the dismantling and recycling of electronic waste. In addition, an E-Waste Export Forum was organized during which action steps were developed to support the expansion of a domestic recycling infrastructure.
