Kimberly M. Cochran, PhD
Environmental Engineer
U.S. EPA Office of Solid Waste

Kimberly Cochran is an environmental engineer in U.S. EPA’s Office of Solid Waste. She is currently working on issues facing construction and demolition (C&D) materials recycling and natural disaster debris management. Dr. Cochran has worked on C&D materials issues for the last seven years as an academic researcher and an environmental consultant. She attended the University of Florida, where she received a bachelor's, a master's, and a doctorate degree in environmental engineering. Her research focused on estimating the amount of C&D materials generated, examining markets for the materials, analyzing recycling policies, and investigating environmental impacts during management.


Robert H. Brickner

Gershman, Brickner, & Bratton, Inc.

Bob Brickner, one of the three founders of GBB in August 1980, is a GBB Executive Vice President and has more than 35 years of experience in the solid waste management field. Mr. Brickner is a graduate civil engineer from the University of Pittsburgh and for over 15 years has been extensively involved with C&D projects across the United States. Bob has completed more than 130 GBB Construction Waste & Demolition Debris project assignments including work for the Government of Hong Kong, a private company in Santiago, Chile and several projects for the National Demolition Association and the CMRA over the past ten years. Bob has visited over 100 C&D waste handling and recycling facilities around the country. GBB is an ICF subcontractor to EPA Headquarters and Bob is currently working on several C&D assignments.

Research Assistant Professor
University of New Hampshire

Jenna R. Jambeck received her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida. She then worked as a consulting engineer for URS Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota and returned to UF to obtain her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences. After her PhD, she worked for the US EPA Office of Research and Development in Research Triangle Park, NC as an ORISE post-doc. She joined the Civil Engineering Department at the University of New Hampshire in 2005 as a Research Assistant Professor and is a member of the Environmental Research Group and Recycled Materials Resource Center. Her specialty is solid and hazardous waste management and she has worked on specific research projects involving construction and demolition debris, wallboard, CCA-treated wood, hydrogen sulfide emission issues, life-cycle assessments of C&D wood waste management, abrasive blasting media, and mine waste.


Timonie Hood
Office of Pollution Prevention and Solid Waste
U.S. EPA Region 9

Timonie works on resource conservation, environmentally preferable purchasing, and green building for EPA's Pacific Southwest region covering Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, California, the Pacific Islands, and over 140 Tribal Nations. She manages grants and partnership programs to develop innovative projects, coordinates training and outreach events, and has worked to expand EPA's Resouce Conservation Challenge construction and demolition debris and green building initiatives. She was the first Federal employee to become a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional, and has received Office of the Federal Environmental Executive, Department of Defense, and EPA awards for her environmental work. She holds a B.S. degree from Auburn University, a law degree from Arizona State University, and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona.
