Assessment Grant Program
Assessment Grants provide funding for an eligible recipient to inventory, characterize, assess, and conduct planning and community involvement related to brownfield sites.

Grants are for up to $200,000 to address sites contaminated by hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (including hazardous substances co-mingled with petroleum) and up to $200,000 to address sites contaminated by petroleum.

Up to $200,000 can be used per site and up to $350,000 with a waiver based on anticipated levels of contamination, size, or ownership of the site.

The performance period of these grants is 3 years.

The recipients of this program are selected through an annual national competition.
