Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement Program (EJCPS)

Purpose

The Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement Program (EJCPS) awards cooperative agreements to local community-based organizations seeking to address environmental and/or public health concerns in their communities through results oriented collaborative problem-solving projects with other stakeholders, such as state and local governments, industry, and other non-governmental organizations. OEJ has developed a Collaborative Problem-Solving Model to provide a systematic approach towards identifying and addressing local environmental and public health challenges. The Model is intended to assist disproportionately affected communities in developing proactive, strategic, and visionary approaches to address their environmental justice issues and achieve community health and sustainability.

EJCPS:

  • Support projects which lead to measurable environmental and/or public health results
  • Cooperative agreements conducted over 2 years
  • Funds one project per region, at up to$120,000 each
  • Total estimated available funding for awards under this competitive opportunity is $1,200,000
  • Applications due February 18, 2014
