Community Involvement
Providing information to the community is vital to EPA's mission.
Assuring that industry has current information to comply with the
Oil Pollution Prevention regulations reduces the potential for discharges
that may be harmful. During emergencies it is important to keep
the community informed of the activities being done to protect their
health, welfare, and environment. Participation in industrial seminars,
public meetings, neighborhood visits, and other activities provides
opportunities to give and receive information that may be important
for responding to the situation.

Each New England state also has a state-wide emergency response program. For more information on state emergency programs, contact each state directly.
