Now what? The bus and train stations are all about 6 miles from the DEP offices at 312 Canco Road. A taxi ride costs $15 and takes 15 minutes. Another option is to take the Greater Portland Metro. Take bus number 5 to the main downtown station ("Metro Pulse") at Elm Street, and transfer to the number 6 bus. The number 6 bus will take you to the intersection of Canco Road and Washington Street. Now what? The bus and train station (110 Gaspee Street) is a ten minute walk to the DEM offices at 235 Promenade Steet. The front of the station faces the striking Rhode Island State House and the new Providence Place Mall. From the train station take a left to the “Cheese Cake Factory.” Walk along the side of the mall and take a right, walking to the next light at the bottom of the hill. Make a right hand turn onto Promenade Street, and the DEM is the first building on your right. The are elevators to the left; go to the second floor, Suite 250, for DEM Information.
