EPA regularly receives requests by the states to make changes to their existing air quality plans or to create new plans. Once received, EPA reviews these changes and makes a determination as to whether the changes meet current federal regulations. These determinations are then published in the Federal Register stating what action is being taken and the reasoning behind it.
