EPA's Mid-Atlantic Regional Office is promoting and encouraging the use of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) for public and private sector facilities as a vehicle to provide compliance with legal and other requirements, continuous improvement, efficiency in operations, and to prevent pollution.
This website contains general information on EMS as well as links to other EPA Mid-Atlantic Websites with specific information on implementing an EMS in an office setting in our Philadelphia office and in a lab setting in the EPA Environmental Science Center in Fort Meade, Maryland. We also have links to specific information on EMS for water and waste water utilities, federal facilities and to recognize top performing organizations interested in joining the EPA Performance Track.
