Office of Analytical Services and Quality Assurance (OASQA)
OASQA
provides analytical and data quality assurance services to the regional
air, water and hazardous waste management programs in Region III. It serves
as the focal point for environmental analyses, procurement of analytical
services and environmental data collection activities within the region.
Services include:
- analyzing various samples such as water, soils, sediments, hazardous waste, oil, tissue, and air
- technical assistance and scientific training for state and regulated community inspectors and analysis
- laboratory inspections and support for criminal investigations and enforcement cases
- participation on regional and national workgroups that develop, review, and/or test new analytical mathodologies; and prepare papers for scientific publications and special limited research projects
- designing, planning, reviewing and overseeing environmental sampling and analysis activities
- evaluating and assessing environmental data for quality and contract compliance
- determining the most cost-effective means for acquiring environmental sample analyses
- procuring and/or scheduling sample analysis through national or regional contracts.
