Hazardous Household Chemicals 09/06/05
Speaker: Bonnie Smith
Time: 00:46

The Environmental Protection Agency has cautionary tips about household hazardous chemicals for families who are returning to hurricane damaged homes even for a short time. Keep children and pets away from leaking or spilled household chemicals. It's not safe to combine household chemicals from leaking or damaged containers or to burn them. Please do not dump chemicals down the drain, storm sewers, or toilets. Mark the containers and set them aside until they can be properly disposed of through the debris programs that are being established. Leave damaged or unlabeled chemical containers undisturbed if possible.
