Copper Basin Mining District Public Notice of Proposed Action at the Apache Blast Area

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) is the lead agency for investigation of the Apache Blast area at
the Copper Basin, depicted in the photo above. EPA has completed a study,
formally called an Engineering Evaluation and Cost Analysis (EE/CA), to
evaluate cleanup alternatives for the Apache Blast area. The fact sheet
below explains the need to clean up the Apache Blast area of the Site and
a proposed cleanup action.

Public Comment Period
A public comment period runs from February 19 through March 19, 2004, for this proposed action. Comments may be submitted through by letter, phone, fax, or email. Written comments must be postmarked, faxed, or sent by e-mail no later than March 19.
