Copper Basin Mining District Historic Photographs

Description: Abandoned transformers, some of which have leaked or been vandilized, have been found at various locations throughout Copper Basin. Some of the oils in these transformers contained PCBs. Glenn Springs Holdings removed transformers found in the North Potato Creek watershed in 2002. PCBs that get into surface water can bioaccumulate in fish and be consumed by humans.
