Background
On July 27, 2012, U.S. EPA deployed emergency response personnel to the site of an Enbridge pipeline oil spill near Grand Marsh, Wis., and immediately began conducting air monitoring operations at the site. The Agency has established a unified command which includes representatives from EPA, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Enbridge.
EPA is overseeing excavation of contaminated soil and vegetation at the site, as well as efforts to determine whether the spill is impacting ground water.
