Crews to install ground-water monitoring wells
In April 2004, weather permitting, crews will install 11 wells in the subdivision southeast of the Lammers Barrel Factory site in Beavercreek. The wells will be placed in the city rights of way - in some cases the grass along the street - in the area generally bordered by Grange Hall Road, East Patterson Road, Fergus Drive and Rexford Road. Permission from the city to install these wells will be requested. This work is being done as part of the former Lammers Barrel Factory ground-water study. The wells will be tested to better define the extent of the ground water effects. The well installation is being done by the companies that have signed an agreement with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to conduct a site investigation. EPA and Ohio EPA are overseeing the work.
