 Common Webinar Problems/Solutions
Problem: I am on the EPA Webinar site, but I cannot find the title

Solution 1: If the meeting has not yet started, click on the "Scheduled Conferences" button. This should bring up a list of available webinars. Click on the icon under “join or enroll for conference.”

Solution 2: If the meeting has started, click on the "Conferences in Progress" button. This should bring up a list of available webinars. Click on the icon under join or enroll in conference.

Problem: I am unable to connect to the Webinar.
Solution 1- Important: Because of the way the Webinar software works, if the host (Region 5) is
disconnected from the Internet, the conference will end, all participants will be disconnected, and we can not restart the same Webinar. The Webinar may still appear to be in progress, but you will receive an error message when you try to connect/reconnect.

To address this possibility, two backups webinars have been scheduled for each day. Example:
Decentralized Wastewater Conference 1b – 1st Backup for Wed, June 10
Decentralized Wastewater Conference 1c – 2nd Backup for Wed, June 10
Decentralized Wastewater Conference 2c – 1st Backup for Thur, June 11
Decentralized Wastewater Conference 2c – 2nd Backup for Thur, June 11
If you notice that one of these is “In Progress,” please try accessing that Webinar. If more than one Webinar conference says "in progress" select the last one  That should be the active conference. If we “use up” both backups during the conference we will create Webinars on the fly

Solution 2: Go to http://hawkeye.epa.gov/imtapp/app/pubschconf.uix
Select the appropriate Webinar by date.
If you log on before the host does, our Webinar will show up under “Scheduled Conferences.”
If the meeting has started, look for the conference under “Conferences in Progress.”
Click on the icon under “join or enroll for conference.”

Solution 3: If you are still having trouble, try the following link. http://portal.epa.gov/webconference You should now be able to follow the instructions above and click on scheduled conference or conference in progress (depending on when you join).

Solution4: See Other Troubleshooting support and frequently asked questions
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/cs/user_info/ortc/webconf_index.html for other possibilities)
Problem: I can see the presentation but I am unable to hear the speaker.
Solution: Make sure you are dialed into the conference number provided on page 1. You can not hear the Webinar through the computer. You will only be able to hear via the conference line.

Problem: The Oracle tool bar is partially blocking my view of the presentation.
Solution: To hide the Oracle tool bar, click on the thumbtack at the top of the page. When you move your mouse away from the top of the page, the tool bar will disappear. To make it reappear, move your mouse back to the top of the page. Click on the thumbtack to retain the tool bar.

Problem: The presenter’s slides are cut-off on my screen.
Solution 1: Try adjusting your screen resolution to 1024 by 768. To adjust the screen resolution:
 First go to "My Computer"
Then click on “Control Panel” (mine is along the left hand side of my screen)
 Then click on “Display:”
Then select the “Settings” tab. Dragging the screen resolution almost all the way to the left should bring up 1024 by 768.
Solution 2: Try adjusting your screen resolution to the highest setting (drag the tab to the right)

Problem: I want to ask a question of the speaker, but the chat button either isn't available or no one is responding.
Solution: For purposes of this Webinar, we disabled the chat function. After the speaker finishes the presentation, we will unmute all of the lines and allow time for questions.
