Region 5 Northeast Ohio Capacity, Management, Operation, and Maintenance (CMOM) Initiative
Many of Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District's (NEORSD) satellite communities are owners of separate sanitary sewers that experience overflows into nearby waterways. Because eliminating sanitary sewer
overflows is a national priority, USEPA Region 5 is piloting a program which offers these satellite communities the opportunity to conduct a self-assessment of their sanitary sewers using the checklist in the
Guide for Evaluating Capacity, Management, Operation, and Maintenance (CMOM) Programs at Sanitary Sewer Collection Systems. A similar program in USEPA Region 4 has been very successful. The documents below should be useful to communities involved in the self-assessment of their sewer systems.
