RMPs in your community
The Risk Management Program makes your community safer by asking facilities that handle large quantities of extremely hazardous chemicals to better understand their processes and how things can go wrong. When companies plan for the worst, it is less likely that the worst will happen.
For more information about RMP facilities in your community
- Contact your Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). LEPCs work to understand chemical hazards in the community, develop emergency plans in case of an accidental release, and look for ways to prevent chemical accidents.
Search for an LEPC in the LEPC Database - Review the RMP at a Federal Reading Room site. In the interest of reducing security threats while maintaining public access to information, the most sensitive parts of the RMP including the Off-site Consequence Analysis can only be accessed at a federal reading room.
- Chicago, IL - visit the reading room at EPA Region 5 by appointment: 312-353-9045
- Call 888-442-9267 for an appointment at any of the reading rooms managed by the Department of Justice:
- Indianapolis, IN
- Minneapolis, MN
- Milwaukee, WI
- Detroit, MI
- Columbus, OH
